Catalog: M2M_CATALOG Event Time: 2024-12-21T16:12Z ( SOHO: COSTEP 15.8-39.8 MeV ) Activity ID: 2024-12-21T16:12:00-SEP-001 (version 2) Note: This SEP event was characterized by the first SOHO COSTEP 15.8-39.8 MeV data point which surpassed 0.1 pfu/MeV. Throughout this event, fluxes were sustained at levels slightly below the 0.1 pfu/MeV threshold with specific, non-consecutive event threshold crossings observed at 2024-12-21T16:12Z, 2024-12-21T18:42Z, 2024-12-21T23:11Z, 2024-12-21T23:56Z and 2024-12-22T03:02Z. This gradual SEP event may have been associated with far-sided CME activity (linked to this event), which may have resulted in a delayed response in the proton flux starting as early as 2024-12-19. Throughout this SEP event various M-class flares were observed which were associated with type II radio emission activity, and may have also contributed to this event.
